The time has arrived for me to step down as President of the Association after serving some four plus years.
The main reason is the increasing workload and the conflict of performing the tasks of both President and Volunteer. Whilst the position of President is not time consuming it adds to the hours needed to perform both tasks in a satisfactory manner.
Mr. RG “Bob” May has been approached and agreed to act as President until the next Annual General Meeting when all office bearers become eligible for election. Bob has been known to me for many years and has a very good understanding of business practices. He is a past Treasurer of Geelong Ostomy Association and was heavily involved in the relocation of the Association from Little Myers Street to our current premises. I have given Bob my assurance of ongoing guidance and advice as required to help him settle into the new role.
The appointments of Jacinta Thomas as Administrator and more recently Emily Broad as Assistant Administrator have been extremely beneficial to the operations of the Association. As they increase their knowledge and gain further experience in the running of the Association they will provide valuable assistance to Bob in particular with Department of Health requirements and protocols.
